BRDrivingSim - User Page

BRDrivingSim users are encouraged to review the help display in the application software in addition to the information listed below. The following information is designed to aid users in improving their experience with the BRDrivingSim software

Current Release

The BRDrivingSim series latest release is v. 1.9. This release includes improvements in steering performance with the addition of variable speed steering control to the existing user-controlled changes to steering sensitivity. User name and ID number can now be entered and stored at the beginning of each session. Expansions to scenarios, such as urban testing, continues. Two additional external side mirrors have been added to improve driver vision.

Data Recording

Driver performance data are recorded each time the ESC key (pausing the simulator) is pressed or when the scenario ends and the simulator displays the End of Scenario message.

Image Quality

The BRDrivingSim is designed for use on monitors with 1024 x 768 resolution in fulll screen mode. Use on wide screens is possible although slight horizontal distortions should be expected if full screen mode is set on your video card. If you have a multi-resolution monitor, check the Display settings in your Windows Control Panel. Image quality can be improved at this resolution by the use of video graphics cards with anitaliasing and anistropic settings. Antialiasing is useful for removing jagged lines from the image. Anistrophy smooths picture elements to improve the simulation of depth and distance. Try various settings on your video card to achieve the bast quality without sacrificing the display performance of your computer.

Image Speed

If you have met the system requirements noted on the BRDrivingSim home page, you should not have problems with jerkiness or stoppage of the simulator image. These tpyically occur on systems which do not have the central processor or video car graphics speed necessary to run this software. If you have met the system requirements, but still have performance problems, your PC is likely running other applications you may or may not be aware of. These includ network transmissions, spyware or adware, as well as PC applications such as e-mail, instant messaging, and others. Close all applications when running BRDrivingSim software to maximize performance.

BRDrivingSim Steering Wheel and Pedals (Thrustmaster™ RG PRO)

The BRDrivingSim wheel/pedal set provides force feedback to the steering. Force feedback provides the driver with forces to the wheel which making driving much more realistic, particularly in turns. BRDrivingSim also provides for increasing or decreasing sensitivity within a given scenario by use of the PageUp/PageDown key on your keyboard. For more details on setting steering responsiveness and other features, see your wheel/pedal set user manual.

BRDrivingSimEX,EXM,EXMK Steering Wheel and Pedals(Logitech™ G27)

The BRDrivingSimEX series steering wheel allows for 900 degrees of movement (two and one half turns) as well as force feedback and the use of the simulator without the need for keyboard use.
