Simulation Training Systems Design and Evaluation
Simulation-based training systems range from simple, desktop PC-based trainers to large, complex systems incorporating multiple trainee stations. Simulation-based training is used in a wide a variety of areas including aviation, ground transportation, ship handling, combat and police personnel training, patient care and surgical training and many others. Designing and developing simulation-based training systems requires requires extensive knowledge of simulation component technologies as well as training and instructional design. Beta Research provides the expertise necessary to support simulation-based training system design from initial concept through formal system evaluation. This includes visual and auditory display development, control loading and haptic simulation systems, motion platform and instructional station design. Evaluation of these systems ranges from basic design compliance reviews to formal user evaluations and training transfer studies.
